Resetting your HTC Android device permanently delete all your data and
customized settings, all the accounts that you added in the Settings
> Accounts & sync and all data associated with these accounts,
personal data that you have created or synchronized to your phone, data
and system settings and programs and will remove all downloaded and
installed application on your device’s hard drive. Files such as your
music, photos, videos, and documents will also be deleted if you select
the Erase all data option. So your first work is to make a back up of any data and files you want to save before you do a factory reset.
Performing a factory reset via the settings menu
If you can not turn HTC One on or access its settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One.

- Open the Notifications panel and press Setting.
- Click Backup / Restore and Reset .
- Click Reset phone .
- If you want to remove multimedia data on HTC One, then select Erase all data.
- Then click OK.

- Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button , and then press and hold POWER.
- Wait for the screen with three images of Android to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME buttons.
- Press VOLUME DOWN to select reset to factory settings, and then press POWER.
